Deserts are not just bare land, unless you happen to be in an area of sand dunes, the Atacama Desert or Antarctica. In most deserts there is an abundance of plant life.
With few exceptions. nearly all deserts have a variety of plant life and are not entirely barren.

Some areas of the desert are quite barren while other areas with more precipitation may have fairly dense vegetation.
