No. Donkeys are pseudo ruminants, which are not true ruminants since they:

a) do not chew cud

b) do not have a multiple-chambered stomach.

They do, however, have a large cecum which is responsible for the majority of the fermentation that goes on in the donkey's digestive system. It is for this reason that they are called hind-gut fermentors, but never ruminants.

Yes, donkeys are considered mammals; but that answer is much too simple. What is a mammal? Mammals are warm-blooded vertebrates that have hair, three middle ear bones, and raise their young with mammary glands. What does this mean, you ask? Take a look at yourself.

Humans, like all mammals, are endotherms that keep their body temperatures raised by the use of their internals (the heart, intestines, etc) rather than ambient sources of heat (the sun, warm objects, fire, etc). Take your hand and place it on top of your head, run it along your arm or leg, or tug at your armpit. Notice something familiar? You've got hair, and it's everywhere. Now, take your fingers and run it along the middle of your back. Feel that? Your spine is a column of vertebrae (the bones), which is similar in function to and shape to other members of the mammal class. Inside your ear are three bones, which serve to transmit sounds (no, there isn't actually a tiny drum in there). Last, but not least, are the mammary glands; which are located on the chest. While human males don't nurse their young in this manner, females produce milk for their young within their breasts.

Although they may look or function differently, each of these traits is possessed by all mammals.

Did you know that there are five species of mammals that lay eggs!

Which is cheaper to keep a donkey cow or Falabella horse?

Most likely it would be the Falabella horse as it is the smallest and will therefore eat the least. They likely would not require shoes, and typically equine veterinarians and farriers will charge less for the care of a small equine such as a miniature or Falabella. They also require less space then a donkey or cow.
