Yes. This 1988 movie was based on the true-life gang rape of Sara Tobias, who was gang raped by three men in a bar in the 1980's. Jodie Foster played the role of Sara Tobia and Kelly McGillis played the role of the district attorney who prosecuted the rapists.
The incident made headlines because, even though the rapes happened in a public place, no one did a thing to stop the three men from raping her, and some even cheered the rapists on. The ones who did the cheering were prosecuted (and convicted) of deliberately inciting a rape.
Sadly, the rape victim, Sara Tobias, was killed in a car accident a year or two after her case was won in court
