If a website is showing films that are still in theaters, they are breaking copyright law.
There is no reason for it to be illegal. But still theaters say it illegal.
No, because nothing is being stolen. Rightsholders typically feel it is a form of copyright infringement, though, which is still illegal.
You can still find them. In the summer I always go to Cape Cod and we go to drive in movies all the time. They have made movie theaters. This is more convenient and you can see them night or day. They are around everywhere and show more than one movie. They also serve more beverages. Movie theaters have pushed away Drive in movies to make room for them. You can still find them though.

Yes. (But lots of us still do It anyway)
It is still in theaters. Usually movies play for around 3-4 months in theaters before being released on DVD. But its probably only in a few theaters by now.
It is somewhat illegal but you won't get in trouble for it. If you download the movie you can get in trouble for it. I have had it happen before. My internet company shut off our internet and told us we had to delete the movie and not do it again, but if you are just watching the movie on a website the website will get in trouble not you. They can easily track your downloads but it's a pain in the butt for them to track the movies you just watch on websites so they don't even bother.
To get movies legally, the best way is still from a store such as Best Buy or RadioShack. It is possible to find these movies online and download them, but this is considered pirating and is illegal in the United States.
Yes. The date of when movies stop showing in theaters is based on the performance of the movie. The date of closing has yet to be specified.
