yes it is possible
The new digital TVs and Off-Air Converters have an On-Screen Signal Strength Meters available through the menu. This is used to help aim the antenna for the peak signal.
All HD broadcasts are digital. Not all digital broadcasts are HD. "Digital" is simply a way of coding TV pictures onto a radio wave so that your TV can receive the radio wave and turn it back into a TV picture. The old method was called "analog." Digital is more efficient than analog and allows a lot more information to be carried on the radio wave. Since the wave can now carry more information, some TV stations are choosing to use that extra information for a high definition (HD) picture rather than a standard definition (SD) picture. In fact, there is so much extra room with a digital signal that most TV stations can now show several different programs at once! Most channels will now have several sub-channels. For example, instead of having just Channel 7, you might have Channel 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, and so on -- each with a different program. An HD signal takes up a lot of room, so TV stations that broadcast an HD signal have less room to add additional sub-channels. What is happening with the digital transition is that all analog TV broadcasts will be turned off. Only digital broadcasts will remain on the air. Each TV station decides what it will do with its digital signal. It can use the digital signal to broadcast one HD sub-channel and a few SD sub-channels or it can broadcast a lot of digital SD sub-channels. Most TV stations will choose to broadcast at least one HD sub-channel.
Communication is at speed of sound. Signal attenuation. Noise of signal travelling through air.
No my local channels all but one that is broadcast in both analog and HD digital but they tend to black out a lot. But with a powered antenna the kind you plug into the wall i get a beautiful crisp clean HD picture you can pick a good one up for around 30-40 bucks but don't buy the cheap 15 dollar one's :)
modemModem stands for modulation and demodulation. Modem is device that converts digital signal into analog and analog signal into digital. Modem sends and received data from one computer to another through telephone lines. The sending and receiving computers both must have modems. The process of converting digital signal into analog signal is called modulation computer store data in digital form. Since a modem transmits data using telephone lines. So it is converted from digital to analog from. The process of converting analog signal into digital signal is called demodulation. The modem on receiving computer receives data in analog form. The incoming analog data id converted back into digital format to be used by computer.Features of ModemSome important features of modem are as follows:1. Speed: speed is the rate at which the modem can send data in bps. Typically modem speeds are 300 bps to 56bps.2. Self- Testing: Modem can teat the digital connection with computer. It can also test analog connection with remote modem.3. Voice over Data: Modem provides the facility of voice conversation while data is being transmitted. Both the source and destination modems should have this feature.4. Error Control: Modem use different methods to control errors for transmitted data.Different types of modems :Different types of modems in terms of physical size and shape are as follows:External ModemExternal modem is attached to the system unit as an external device through telephone line. It is connected to the telephone wall jack by another cable. External modem is connected to computer using serial cable to COM1 or COM2 port. It requires external power supply. It is easy to setup. External modem is expensive.Internal ModemInternal modem is a circuit board that is inserted into an expansion slot on the motherboard. Internal modem cannot be moved from one computer to anther easily. It is difficult to setup than other types of modem. It is less expensive than external modem.Wireless ModemWireless modem transmits the data signals through air instead of cable. It also known as radio-frequency modem. It is designed to work with cellular technology and wireless local area networks.
Digital is a way to transmit a television signal; it can be transmitted over the air or via cable, satellite, or as an internet protocol.
There is a digital tuner in the Samsung model. It is also possible for the TV to receive off air digital signals.
First of all digital signal cant be transmitted wirelessly. digital signal can only be transmitted through optical fibre in the form of pulses. so we have to convert digital signal to analog form with the help of DIGITAL TO ANALOG CONVERTOR ( D TO A CONVERTOR). Then this analog signal should be super imposed on carrier signal called MODULATION. modem can be used for that. then that signal can be transmitted to the air through alloted band width like cellular system with the help of transceiver. at the reciveing end we can demodulate the signal with the help of modem & can convert it back to digital form through A TO D CONVERTOR.

Original. It changes the sound (pressure waves in the air in the room) into a digital signal.Correction:It changes the sound pressure waves into an ANALOG signal. Any digital signal is the result of feeding the analog mic signal into an analog-to-digital converter, typically in a computer's sound card.Original.An electric guitar doesn't need a microphone because it makes a digital signal.Correction:A simple guitar with magnetic pickups creates an ANALOG signal from the motion of the strings, typically tens to low hundreds of millivolts. If you want a digital signal, you need: 1. Analog-to-digital processing in the guitar itself, or2. Analog-to-digital processing externally, such as a computer sound card.Original.An mp3 recording is a digital signal.
The only time you will be in need of a digital converter is if you currently own an analog television that is connected to an over-the-air antenna signal.
Yes, simply connect it to the "off air ANT." cax input on the back of your DVR unit. Hope this helps.
I do not believe you gain "Extra Channels." The Converter box is to convert the Digital over the air signal to a non-digital TV so you can still receive channels after the analog signal broadcasts are going to stop on Feb. 17th, 2009 in the US.
As compared to what? Are you talking analog cable or digital cable? Are you comparing it to an analog signal over the air or a satellite receiver?
Depends. If they're all encoded for transfer by electronic means(radio, fiber, wire) they'll all travel at the same speed. But if you by audio signal mean sound in the air, then sound travels at about 700 miles an hour. A digital signal - electrical/optical - travels at the speed of light (186,282 miles per second) down a fiber network.
You COULD use an HD wireless receiver, which has antennae and receives HD channels in the air, and converts it to a digital HDMI signal for your HDTV.
No, it is an analog tv and requires a digital converter box to receive a digital signal off the air. No problem if you have satellite or cable service. Either way, the image will not be HD.
