Also, note that Light kisses Misa in the anime and in the manga. This may be just to use her, but, Light never shows attraction to L.
Light's eyes are filled with deep obsession and ambitious hate for L; never changing to soft, loving eyes.
True, there are many rumors on this topic, but Light is not gay.
And even if he were gay for L, why would he kill his "most beloved person" then?

While it is clear that he is only kind to her to keep up his facade and that should it become necessary, he would kill her, the fact remains that he IS hesitant to kill her. In you're question, you used the word 'like' rather than 'love.' It is plausible for Yagami to like his sister and still use her as a pawn. Besides, I've always hypothesized that Light is a victim of circumstance: his disposition coupled with his random encounter with the Death Note made him a heartless killer. However, without the Death Note, he could have been a decent man, one that at least LIKED his little sister.

Well, Lights plan blows up in his face and he goes crazy and starts talking about his reasoning for writing several names in the death note. After that he attempts to write Near's name on torn piece of the death note: Near's name is Nate River. But Matsuda shoots at him several times without missing. He's on the ground mentally asking for help from Mikimi, Misa, and Takuda. Mikimi starts to panic and kills himself which leads an opening for light to escape with alot of bullet wounds. He runs along a fence seeing his past self pass him up then he starts to think about the time he first picked up the book and then he ends up at an abandoned factory. The Shinigami Ryuk rights lights name in the book because he knows its the end anyway. So as Light lies on stairs dying; his eyes slowly closes as he see L in the distance. Then Light Yagami and Kira died in the same day.
