His mother is from the Uzumaki Clan that is an second branche of the Senju Clan.
And as far as i know the sage of six paths had two sons .
The first One got the eyes of the sage
And the second one got the Body/Chakra of the sage.
Senju descends from the second son. (Naruto)
Uchiha descends from the first one. (Sasuke)

Madara (tobi) say's that nagato's trademark collour(orange) hair of the uzumaki clan turned back when he died...
So i think nagato's parents were an uchiha and Senju Descendands .

^ Whoever wrote this answer, I'm sorry, but thats most likely completely false. Naruto wouldn't steal someone else's power just to make himself more powerful. At some part in shippuden Itachi forcefully gives Naruto some of his power, and tells him that he hopes he won't need to use it. The sage of the six paths requires someone to be both in the Uzumaki clan, and have the Uchiha powers. Nagato is part of the Uzumaki clan, and Madara gave Nagato some of his power. Therefore, Naruto will most likely get the rinnegan and become the savior of the ninja world by using it to destroy the 10 tails. I believe that Naruto will awaken the rinnegan from inside him, not steal it from Nagato.
