"sarangi" are not bengali but yes are mainly considered to be the ORIYA brahmins....some are rooted inside and some are in d border states of ORISSA and a lot of difference in their way of talking....:))

There are many Sarangis living in West Bengal and Jharkhand state whose mother tongue is Bengali.Originally they were brought from Kanouj area by kings belonging to the Ganga dynasty in the 10th century.The Ganga kingdom was spread over the area from river Godavari in the south to Ganga in the east.
