South Park was originally set up as a stop-motion animation show. However, the only episode done entirely stop-motion with construction paper is the very first episode. Since it took nearly 4 months to create just one half-hour episode, the creators and studio decided it would be more efficient to animate on computers. It has been computer animated ever since.

Stopmotion animation is a form of animation where objects or characters are moved frame by frame, and then sped up to create a video. It revolves around capturing a series of still photographs, with each photograph representing a slight change in position or movement of the subject. An excellent example of Stopmotion animation is a YouTube channel known as "Wei Animations". Watching his videos is what got me into animation.
