If you are referring to the AOE II Gold Edition then yes. The Gold edition is simply a package containing AOE II and the Conquorers Expansion so they are both the same program.

My copy had 1 CD with both the original and Expansion. This was just the Jewel case version. My friend had the original release Gold Edition and it came with two CDs - the original game and the expansion. There is another Collector's Edition that came with AOE and AOE Gold Editions - it had four CDs. The Jewelcase version of AOE2 Gold Edition has two CDs. Hope this helps/
