You probably mean "aphelion", which is the term to use for a body orbiting around a sun. Aphelion is when a body, like the earth, is at its farthest point in its orbit around its sun. When the earth is at aphelion, it is winter in the Southern Hemisphere. People in the northern hemisphere are enjoying summer at that time. It does seem odd to us (in the north) that summer happens when earth is farthest from the sun, but remember that it is the tilt of earth's axis that gives rise to the seasons, and not our absolute distance from the sun.
It Is closest to the earth In the winter.
earth is closer to the Sun during our winter
More of the Sun's rays directly hit a particular region on Earth during the summer than during the winter.
During the southern Hemisphere winter, the earth's north pole 'leans' toward the sun, while its south pole 'leans' away from the sun.
During winter, the Earth receives sunlight at a lower angle, which means the solar rays are spread over a larger area. This results in reduced solar intensity and shorter daylight hours. Additionally, the atmosphere may scatter and absorb some of the solar radiation, further diminishing the warmth felt during this season. Consequently, the rays that reach the Earth's surface during winter are less direct and less intense compared to other seasons.
During its Perigee 363,104 km, at its apogee its 405,696 km distance.
its closer at perigee than at apogee.
"Apogee" means the point in the moon's orbit where it's farthest from earth.
The farthest point in the Moon's orbit around Earth is called the apogee. At apogee, the Moon is approximately 405,500 kilometers (251,966 miles) away from Earth.
Perigee is the opposite of appogee. Perigee is the point in the orbit of the moon at which it is nearest to the earth. Apogee the point in the orbit of the moon at which it is furthest from the earth.
Apogee means Far from the earth..... It's not Pengee its Perigee... Perigee means near from the earth...
When farthest from earth it is at apogee.
The highest point a rocket reaches during its flight is typically the apogee, which is the point of maximum altitude. This is the point where the rocket reaches its peak altitude before descending back to Earth.
An apogee is the point in the orbit of an object (such as a moon or a spacecraft) where it is furtherest from the center or surface of the object it is orbiting. The apogee of the moon is when it is furtherest from the earth's center.
Apogee is the farthest distance between the moon (or a satellite) in its orbit around earth.
Apogee
"Apogee" is the term used to describe the point in the moon's orbit when it is farthest from Earth.
