What is the true story behind the movie Hidden Evil?

This movie follows the true story fairly closely. One thing the movie doesn't tell you is that Fuscia father had died from illness prior to the beginning of the film. She has gone to live with the Diamantes as their maid. That is not really clear in the film, as it looks like she works in their candy shop.

The movie also has Fuscia going to work in a parts factory. But one reality was that, as she and the Jews she was hiding began to run out of food, she would knit sweaters and sell them or trade for food on the Black Market.
