I think the Phantom of the Opera is real as in a real ghost who is still alive and can't die.
no its it not real just a myth
Gaston Leroux believed the Erik to be a real being. He was convinced when a male skeleton turned up in the vaults of the theater. He writes in his book that the only way to explain the death of Raoul's brother and the kidnapping of Christine Daae was that the phantom was behind that. If you've read the book he states all of his facts about him there.

Yes there is. Gaston Leroux the original writer of the Phantom of the Opera was inspired by those who lived directly underground of Paris, who he translate into his character Erik. No there is no such thing as a real Phantom of the supernatural, but only in your imagination.
There is only one that was filmed at the Opera Garnier. It is called The Phantom of the Opera :), and stars Charles Dance as Erik, and Teri Polo as Christine. I would highly recommend watching it; it is a lovely film, and an interesting take on the Phantom's story.
