Pretty much all countries are "large" in the sense you wouldn't want to try to paint them, so I'm not certain where your cutoff for being a "small" country falls.

Argentina is almost certainly bigger than that, though. It's the second-largest country in South America and the 8th largest country in the world, so I guess it's "large".

By population it's 32nd, which is still well above the median (though not much above the mean; there are a lot more countries with really low populations than countries with really high populations).
