the titanic struck an ice berg which scraped along the ship and made a whole.
as the water flooded the five compartments the ship's front was under water and the back was sticking out.
unfortunately the ship cannot hold that kind of pressure so it split right down the middle.
and sunk right down the bottom taking the back of the ship right with it ,but not all the way.
so finally it detaches as the front of the ship sinks down and left the back of the ship floating on the surface for a couple of minuets but unfortunately sinks.
