In the comic strip "Blondie," Mr. Dithers' wife is named Cora. She is often mentioned by Dagwood and is known for her lively and demanding personality.
"Dagwood Bumstead and family, including Daisy and the pups, live in the suburbs of Joplin [Missouri, USA]," it was reported in The Joplin Globe in August 1946. Chic Young, the artist and creator of the "Blondie" comic strip, made the announcement that summer.[1]

I never followed this strip but from conversations with those who did found out the boss-man"s name was Mr. Dithers. Dagwood was the husband and lead male character. The movie versions starred the (B) actress Penny Singleton (small change here!) in the title role of Blondie.

Blondie Bumstead's maiden name in Chic Young's comic strip was Boopadoop. However, if you are familiar with the 28 Blondie movies, they mistakenly had a few names as her maiden name. In the first Blondie movie in 1938 her mother is called Mrs. Miller, implying Blondie's maiden name would indeed be Miller. However in a later movie, "Blondie Goes To College", Dagwood says she was Blondie Smith when he met her. But of course, it's wise to go with the creator of Blondie all together which means Boopadoop is correct. Apparently Betty Boop was her half-sister and she shortened it when she went into show business. :)
