An error code P1684 from an OBDII code reader indicates that the battery had recently been disconnected. This is normal if a new battery was installed but can indicate a connection issue or grounding problem.
On a BMW OBDII fault P0411 is part of EVAP emissions. Most common cause of that code is a loose or mising gas cap. Otherwise, the the next step is a bad purge flow valve or solenoid. It's all about trapping the fumes that are displaced when you fill up gas tank
You need to use an OBDII scanner (available at your local auto parts store) to see what the diagnostic code is. Depending on what what fault code is, you either have to fix something or you can clear it and see if the code returns. You can clear the code (turn out the light) with the OBDII Scanner. Personally i bought a ScanGaugeII for this and it's AWESOME! the Haynes and Chilton repair manuals will help you figure out what the code means.
Trouble code P0780 means: Shift malfunction
Check the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter.
This is not a "Generic" OBDII code. That means that it means diferent things on diferent car makes.
Your OBD II code reader won't work on that vehicle.
Evaporative emission system purge control valve circuit
You need to replace the governer pressure sensor, and the governer pressure solenoid. They are both located on the passenger side of the valve body, inside the transmission.
