Depends whether you are working in the private or public sector, salaries vary accordingly. In the public sector, scales are dependent on the the number of years of experience within the field of work, ranging from about R10000 to R15000 nett. In the private sector, it depends on whether you are working for a private practitioner of owning the concern. Generally apprentices to a private practitioner will earn from about R8000 to R14000, and their may be commission structures that apply over and above.

If you are owning the practice, income varies according to feet through the practice spanning very low figures to very high figures, which may depend on the seasons as well.
