Here are some great classic Halloween movies that are spooky, but not too scary:
- Edward Scissorhands (a classic Tim Burton film with Johnny Depp)
- Gremlins (a classic, scary movie about adorable little pets gone wrong)
- Creature from the Black Lagoon
- The Blob (alien life form destroys everything in its path as it grows!)
- The Birds (Alfred Hitchcock is the master of horror without the gore!)
- Young Frankenstein (by Mel Brooks: this is a funny one for adults, too!)
- Ghostbusters! (ok, so it's not that scary, but it has ghosts!)
- Hocus Pocus (this is better for girls, but I loved it when I was younger)
