In a sense, yes, as plots are pretty tied down pardner, after all with Horses and Cowboys and Gunsmoke-type settings. With a TV western, there is surprising latitude in the plots as fans of Gunsmoke and more to the point Bonanza recall. While rare, there have been ( I am not referring to Wild, Wild West here) Western Science-fiction films dealing with ( Don"t ask how) Dinosaurs! Talk of a pre-historical setting.
