Walt Disney did it very well and left the story line untouched - A princess is born and on her christening is cursed to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel before the end of her 16th birthday and die. her fairy godothers help by saying that she won't die but be put to sleep until she gets her true love's kiss. after being raised away from the castle she returns with her fairy godmother(s) at sunset on her 16th birthday. when left alone she is hypnotised to prick her finger and falls into deep sleep. a prince, whom she met by chance that day, defeats the evil witch and kisses the sleeping princess. And so they live happily ever after!!! :D:D

The story is basically that a princess (Aurora) is born and when she's born the three good fairies each give her a gift, then Maleficent the evil witch/fairy comes in upset that she didn't get an invitation and curses Aurora saying she will prick her finger on a spindle on her 16th birthday and die. Luckily one of the good fairies hadn't given her gift yet and instead says that she will not by, but sleep until her true love kisses her. The king has all the spindles destroyed that year and sends Aurora to be raised by the good fairies so Maleficent can never find her. As she gets older she meets a prince and the fairies take her home to meet her mom and dad, as she waits for the fairies to get her mom and dad she follows a shining light that she is entranced by and pricks her finger on a spindle. Then the prince comes and saves her.
