No. It doesnt matter what the circumstances are, a mother to a child is like the most important thing. They don't have to like the mother, but they should definatley respect her for the child's sake.

The Americans had begun to have longer lifespans than they had had in the past and they tended to live longer than people in Europe. This allowed them to have more children. Do the biological paternal grandparents have visitation rights after a child has been adopted in Massachusetts?

Allowing such visitation would be totally at the discretion of the adopting parents. There is not a law that would force them to allow any relatives of the adopted child to continue a relationship. Grandparents as does any person that can is considered an "interested party" have the option to file for guardianship or adoption of the child if they so choose.

do I have rights to see my grandchildren?

It varies by state. Basically all states require the grandparents to show that visitation is in the best interest of the children, all that means is the visits wont hurt/harm or be detrimental to the children. Some states just require that to be met in order to file a case for visitation. Other states grandparents cannot file if the parents have allowed ANY visitation, no matter how limited. Two of the strictest states (MN,PA) require the children have lived WITH you at some point. Still others require that you can prove that you had a Parental role in their lives instead of a grandparents role. Im sorry that i cant give you a straightforward answer, but instead can only suggest that you speak with an attorney that specializes in Family Law.
