"Night" is a memoir by Elie Wiesel that recounts his experiences during the Holocaust, while "Schindler's List" is a film directed by Steven Spielberg about Oskar Schindler's efforts to save Jewish lives during the Holocaust. Both works focus on the horrors of the Holocaust and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of unimaginable suffering. day and night are different lengths because of the axis which causes the seasons. As you know the earth is spinning. Because of this the imaginary axis when the earth is facing the sun it causes day and the other way around. In December 21st the longest day occurs in the southern hemisphere and the shortest in the northern. In July the longest day in the northern hemisphere occurs and vica versa. Because of the earths rotation around the sun and how the earth faces the sun for the longest periods in summer the day and nights are different lenghts.

A solstice is the longest or shortest days of the year. (December 21 is the winter solstice or shortest day of the year, June 21st is the longest or the summer solstice) Equinox is when the day and night are equal amounts of time.
During the day, sunlight warms the Earth's surface, causing temperatures to rise. At night, without sunlight, the Earth's surface cools down as it radiates heat into the atmosphere. This difference in heating and cooling processes leads to temperature variations between day and night.
