December 11, 1941. Up until the bombing of Pearl Harbor by Japan the American population was anti-war / isolation position. The general public did not want to go to war. This was of great concern to Britain who at the time was fighting the Nazi's and needed help. Also it was known about the murder of people by the Nazi's. At the time American public didn't much care about what was going on to other people. It wasn't until after WW2 did America become a world power and involve themselves in world affairs we know today
