There is no reason to believe so. The story of Hamlet was well-known long before Shakespeare heard about it, and some of the lines of his character were already drawn. Whether he was inspired to change aspects of that character by someone he knew is anyone's guess.
Many suggest it as much more likely that Hamlet's character was more likely based on Shakespeare's son "Hamnet". But although the two have similar names, Hamnet died more than five years before the play was written. What is more, the Hamlet story existed independently of Shakespeare long before young Hamnet died. Shakespeare did not invent the story.
In any case, Hamnet Shakespeare's son and Hamlet the character have absolutely nothing in common apart from their names. Nobody seems to want to claim that the character of Anne Bullen in Henry VIII is based on Shakespeare's wife, or that King John is based on his father. They should treat Hamnet the same.
Shakespeare's father, on the other hand, did die at about the same time Hamlet was written, and his death may have been a factor in Shakespeare writing some of his darkest (and greatest) plays at this time. However, the character of Hamlet does not resemble John Shakespeare in any particular.
Hamlet's plan is to stage a play which will re-enact the murder of his father and then to discover whether Claudius is guilty of the murder or not based on his reaction to the play.
Hamlet gives his "To be, or not to be" soliloquy. Hamlet tells Ophelia, "Get thee to a nunnery!" Hamlet decides not to kill Claudius while he prays. Hamlet kills Polonius.
Hamlet is set at Elsinore Castle, Denmark, which is based on the real Kronborg Castle.
It ought to be.
They both love Ophelia. They both seek vengeance, and find that the quest for vengeance pushes them toward the throne of Denmark. They end up getting what they want, but dying in the process. They may both be seen as quasi-heroic protagonists.
The ghost of Hamlet's father appears to the watchmen. Hamlet's mother encourages Hamlet to act happy. Hamlet is asked to avenge his father's death. Hamlet tells his friends not to be surprised if it seems like he's acting crazy.
He probably borrowed the the plot from an earlier play.
Hamlet is not a real person, he's a character in a play, based on a legendary character. Since it doesn't specify in the play what year it was, it could be any year. Any time you go to see the play, Hamlet dies in the year you are watching it.

The Lion King
He's a fictional character (the one in the Shakespeare play) and the play does not give a birthday for him. The play is based, very loosely, on a historical prince called Amleth who lived in the 800s sometime.
