No, but there was something like it in the original Peter Pan.
In the original, Wendy's brothers, John and Micheal, were hunting Indians with the lost boys and were held captive by the Indians because Tiger Lilly was missing (kidnapped by Captain hook). In the 2003 version, Wendy's brothers were being held with Tiger Lilly, leading Peter and Wendy to go find them at the Black Castle.
In the 1950s version, where Tiger Lilly was held was at a rock island in the shape of a Skull. Everything that happened in the black castle took place originally at this rock but because this new Peter Pan wasn't going to be animated, it proved too much of a struggle to put together. So, instead, they went with a castle for a more dramatic and eye catching flare.
The producers stayed very true to the original, just changed the setting.
