The customized car-called the Black Beauty in the story line, both Radio and TV, was based on ( TV version) a Chrysler Imperial with some body work, one of the major customizers did this but it was not Barris, of Batmobile fame. up to a point- two man crime-fighting team, no real super-powers, sort of (semi-pro cops) costumes, etc. there were many paralells between Batman and the Green Hornet at least in the TV versions. One minor differene, there were no repeat villains in (Hornet) GH did not last long on TV , many saw it as an inferior take-off on Batman. I seem to recall a Dean Jefferies who also did the Monkees car- may have designed the Black Beauty. Much was made of customized cars in the sixties. Barris did design and execute the Batmobile and the Two Munsters cars- the coffin shaped one and the larger old-fashoned hearse.
