In the general sense, Tron:Legacy was a mixture between Live action, practical effects, and computer animation. Live actors were used, and most of the discs, suits, and set pieces were physical props. However, many of the the action scenes and characters (including a fully-computerized 'younger' version of actor Jeff Bridges) couldn't have been made without the aid of computers, living up to its predecessor's original claim to glory.
