Branagh by far he so much more intense but different people think diffrently but my vote goes to Branagh. Also if you take a look at his past Branagh started as a theater actor at the prestigious school or RADA and worked specifically on Hamlet and other Shakespeare, with legends such as John Gielgud, Derek Jacobi, and Judi Dench. The documentary Discovering Hamlet shows some of Branagh's experience as Hamlet before he made his film. In the past Branagh has been compared to Sir Laurence Olivier who is thought to be the best actor of the 20th century and also well known for his Shakespeare prowess. Not that Mel Gibson can't act in his own right but when it comes to Hamlet I think Branagh takes the cake.
