Here are some suggestions:

1. Mount Royal Park is a great place to visit. Accessible from Downtown, the park is a great escape from the bustle of the city. There are several kilometers of walking trails to get some exercise. At the top, there is an observation deck where you get a full unobstructed view of Downtown Montreal. There is a visitor center near this. Trails heading east will take you to Beaver Lake and many places to picnic. In the winter time, the park features many cross-country skiing and snowshoe trails.

2. Vieux-Port and Vieux-Montreal (Old Port and Old Montreal) are very nice places to visit. Located Downtown near the Saint Lawrence, the neighborhood showcases centuries old architecture and has historical charm. Here you can also visit the Notre Dame Basilica, an impressive church.

3. St. Viateur Bagels, Fairmount Bagels and Schwartz Deli are three famous places to eat in the Plateau Mont-Royal area. The bagel bakeries feature fresh Montreal-style bagels not found anywhere else in the world, and Schwartz's serves a delicious Montreal-style smoked-meat sandwich.

4. Altitude 737 is a club located atop Place Ville-Marie, in the heart of Downtown, more than 600 feet above the ground. It offers one of the best views of the city, as well as one of the most unique night club experiences, with its high elevation and 360-degree terrace overlooking the city during the summer.

5. The Underground City of Montreal is a network of connected walkways, shopping centers and restaurants across the downtown area. It is the largest underground city in the world, and provides access to over 1500 stores and places to eat. It also is linked with the Montreal Metro system.
