stanley is the main character whos nickname is caveman. he got in trouble for stealing a pair of shoes but is later found innocent. mr. pendenski and mr.sir are the ones in charge other than the mean warden. hector, or zero has no family and does not know how to read or write. xray is the leader of the group his real name is rex, armpits is theodore, squids is alan, magnets is jose, zigzags is ricky. all of these characters have to dig holes because they did something bad. little do they know that the warden is just lookin for treasure. in this book, the warden wil do anything to get her money. itt might even put zero and stanleys life in danger!!!!:)
