Neil's Childhood

Neil Armstrong was born at Wapakoneta, Ohio on the 5th of August, 1930. At the age of 2 Neil went with his father to see 1932 National Air Races, seeing the planes fly made Neil fall in love with flying. When he was a young boy he loved science and maths, and began learning astronomy. He was so interested in planets and stars as a young boy he gazed at the stars, especially the moon. At the age of 6 he took his first plane ride. When he got older he began making model airplanes. He began taking flying lessons when he was 14 and at the age of 16 he got his licence to fly a plane.

Neil as a young man

Neil joined Purdue University to got a degree Aeronautical engineering. In 1950 he was a U.S Navy Fighter pilot in the Korean War. 1955 he got a master's degree in aerospace engineering. He was invited by NASA in 1962 then Armstrong
