Aaron, the first of the elite four has bug type Pokemon dustox lv. 53, beautifly lv. 53, vespiquen lv. 54, and heracross lv. 54. You need a fire type Pokemon for them, but he also has a drapion lv. 57 which you need a ground type for. Moves like flamethrower, drill peck and earthquake will come in handy.
Betha, elite four number two has ground type Pokemon. She has a quagsire lv. 55, sudowoodo lv. 56, golem lv. 56, whiscash lv. 55 and hippowdon lv. 59. Grass type is your best bet against her. Moves like solar beam and surf come in handy.
Flint, elite four number three has a rapidash lv. 58, steelix lv. 57, drifblim lv. 58, lopunny lv. 57, and an infernape lv. 61. Ground type Pokemon are good. Moves like earthquake and magnitude are good.
Lucian, elite four number four has psychic Pokemon Mr. Mime lv. 59, Girafarig lv. 59, Medicham lv. 60, Alakazam lv. 60 and a Bronzong lv. 63. Best bet is a bug, ghost or dark type. Bronzong is only effected by fire type though.
Finally, the elite four champion has a Spiritomb lv. 61, Roserade lv. 60, Gastrodon lv. 60, Lucario lv. 63, Milotic lv. 63, and a Garchomp lv. 66. Spiritomb has no weakness and it is the first Pokemon she will use so put you most powerful Pokemon first. Roserade is weak to fire, ice, flying and psychic. Gastrodon is weak to grass. Lucario is weak to fire, fighting, and ground. Milotic is weak to grass and electirc, and Garchomp is weak to ice and dragon. Be carefull though with Garchomp, he is also a dragon type so he will be super effective to your dragon type!
I suggest you definitely use your Starter with Luxray and Staraptor: very good combination. Also I suggest Gyarados as a feesable option as after using a few dragon dances it is unbeatable with amazing attack: I took out Cynthia purely with a level 53 Gyarados! From there obviously Palkia or Dialaga are enournously powerful and then have a Pokemon of your choice maybe Psychic like Alakazam or Ghost like Gengar.
Hope this helps.
P.S I used these Pokemon all under lv55 and beat the elite four first time!
Poison type pokemon have the same weaknesses in LeafGreen as in all other pokemon games so far; they are weak to psychic and ground type moves.
all kinds of pokemon are good to beat the elite four. first u have to find out which one of the elite four your battling. then you just use the pokemon that are strong agenst their pokemon.

In the Pokemon games, the Elite Four are kind of the final boss to the games. In every game (including Pokemon Diamond) you will find them at the end of Victory Road.
