What are real jobs that are similar to Dr. Gregory House's in the series House MD?

A Diagnostician and a Treatment Specialist and a Nephrologist. Those are all what Dr.Gregory House is.-----------------------------------------------------The above is correct but in reality Dr. House's job does not exist it is created for him to make him more interesting and amazing. It worked didn't it? Everything I have heard says the closest alternative is NO not a Hospitalist since they treat families, or tend to, Dr. House treated a single patient albeit family visited. And NO Physician is not a correct answer because technically ALL doctors are physicians but House is a specialist. The closest thing is actually similar, but not identical, to Dr. Chase's specialty as an intensivist.

An intensivist specializes in intensive care and dealing with patients who are in bad condition and can be in an state of emergency but can also be people with problems that are not easily diagnosed or are suffering enough from the illness to put them in the ICU which is interesting already.
