Vietnam is on the coast; the US has a coast. Other than that, Vietnam is located directly due west of Central America, well below the US boundary. Vietnam has some of the heat and humidity of the state of Louisiana and the geography of California (mountains, marshlands, rivers, deltas, etc.).
The US Civil War was a true civil war in that the US was fighting itself. The Vietnam War was not a true civil war; it was not fighting itself. North Vietnam and South Vietnam were separate countries.
The US Civil War was technically illegal, which is why the CSA (Confederate States of America) president, Jefferson Davis was imprisoned at the end of the war; and why so many US Army officers wanted Southern (CSA) prisoners to be hanged or shot as traitors. Union veterans of the war called the civil war, the "war of rebellion", hence the nickname "Rebels." Not the US Civil War, as people do today.
Other than that, the US Civil War & Vietnam War had the following in common:
1. Both were un-declared wars
2. Both were fought by drafted men (Civil War-First draft/Vietnam-Last draft)
3. Both had a US president shot in the head (assassinated)
4. Both had a Johnson preceding the shot president
5. Both wars treated their SOUTHERN veterans badly
6. Both wars, the SOUTH lost the war
7. Both wars, the North was completely victorious
8. Both wars had draft riots
9. Both wars had an assault rifle: Spencer/Henrys & M16s
10. Both wars had a Brown Water Navy (Riverine Warfare-again 1st & last)
11. After both wars came an all volunteer military
12. After both wars came a "Splendid Little War" & "100 Hour War"
13. Both the Spanish/American War & Desert Storm occurred in the 90's.
14. Was stated that both SAW & DS united the American people
15. US military uniform changes occurred after both wars: from blue to khaki & OG fatiques to camoflage.
Not that many. They both have Muslims in the country and they both have a large amount of population.
Well i heard that they were both colonized by the French people. and they both like sweet things. and have same hobbies for there sports.
the simialiritys between both the north and the south were both sets of leaders were predominantly dedicated, focused, and inspiring to their men.
The Civil War. The War between the States. The War between Brothers. The War of Northern aggression.
Football and war have numerous similarities. McMuntry portrays comparisons between uniformity, violence, and obedience.
the Vietnam War
the Vietnam War
What the differences between Iraq war and Vietnam war?
y
Vietnam is more painful and bloody and the Indian war wasn't as bloody
they both have to do drills
Vietnam has never had a civil war. The closest you could get would be the Vietnam War, which was fought between the separate although related countries of North and South Vietnam (along with the allies of each side).
Vietnam War is a civil war because it was North Vietnam vs South Vietnam.
Both were undeclared wars.
Vietnam was a war against the nation of NORTH Vietnam and communism. Iraq is the restoration of law and order; and stability to the country.
They both have the same people living in the same country fighting against each other. That is why it is called a Civil War.
Most Historians like to use 1961 as the starting point for the war. The Vietnam War was NOT a civil war. A civil war is two armies from the same nation fighting itself. North Vietnam & South Vietnam were separate countries. They were never one country called Vietnam until 1975.
Stuff.
because it was north Vietnam against south Vietnam
