; Claudius mentions more than one thing. From Act 4 scene 3: --- Clau: Hamlet, this deed, for thine especial safety Which we do tender, as we dearly grieve ------- Claudius claims there that he's concerned for Hamlet's well being. We know it's a lie, of course, since Claudius has set up the mission to England to kill Hamlet. Also Act 4 scene 7: ------- Clau: Oh, for two special reasons : Which may to you perhaps seem much unsinewed, But yet to me they're strong; the Queen, his mother Lives almost by his looks, and for myself, My virtue or my plague, be it either which, She is so concleave to my life and soul, That as the star moves not but in his sphere I could not but by her; the other motive, Why to a public count I might not go, Is the great love the general gender bear him, Who, dipping all his faults in their affection, Work like the spring that turneth wood to stone: Convert his gyves to graces, so that my arrows, Too slightly timbered for so loved, armed, Would have reverted to my bow again, But not where I have aimed them. ; ------- In talking to Laertes, Claudius says he needs Gertrude's political support, and she dotes on Hamlet. That's true. Then, the "public count" idea is that Claudius doesn't want to challenge Hamlet before the general public, because he's afraid people, in general, might like Hamlet better than they like him. Politics, in other words. So altogether, Claudius basically mentions two things. The first one is the lie that he has personal affection for Hamlet. The second is true, that he's worried about his political support against Hamlet, and he doesn't want to risk people turning against him in favor of Hamlet. Of course when Laertes led his mob to storm the castle, that got Claudius thinking about how popular he was, and it obviously didn't look good for him.
Canada's legal holidays are Canada Day on 1 July (as per s. 2 of the Holidays Act), Remembrance Day on 11 November (as per s. 3 of the Holidays Act), Victoria Day on the Monday preceding 25 May (as per s. 4 of the Holidays Act), New Year's Day on 1 January, Labour Day on the first Monday of September, Thanksgiving Day on the second Monday of October, Christmas Day on 25 December, and Boxing Day on 26 December (as per s. 166 of the Canada Labour Code).Although Canada Day and Victoria Day are each called a "legal holiday" in the Holidays Act, Remembrance Day is merely called a "holiday." As such, it is not a holiday for all Canadians. Remembrance Day is colloquially referred to as a "bank holiday."Most provinces also observe a holiday on the first Monday in August and some observe another holiday at other times.Canada's Interpretation Act describes each Sunday as a "holiday." In addition, the Act names eight other holidays. Section 35(1) reads, in part:"holiday" means any of the following days, namely, Sunday; New Year's Day; Good Friday; Easter Monday; Christmas Day; the birthday or the day fixed by proclamation for the celebration of the birthday of the reigning Sovereign; Victoria Day; Canada Day; the first Monday in September, designated Labour Day; Remembrance Day; any day appointed by proclamation to be observed as a day of general prayer or mourning or day of public rejoicing or thanksgiving; ...The problem, however, is that a person's right not to work on a holiday, or to be paid a premium for having to work on a holiday, is contained in a hodge-podge of sometimes inconsistent federal and provincial legislation.

It means a mixture of dissimilar items all jumbled together.
Music performed by a mixture of musical instruments not usually heard together. A musical 'hodge-podge'.
"Hodge podge strained through a Leslie" is a metaphorical phrase that likely does not have a specific, technical meaning. "Hodge podge" typically refers to a mixture of different things, while a Leslie is a type of speaker commonly used in musical instruments like the Hammond organ. Therefore, this phrase could be interpreted as a chaotic or disorganized mix of sounds or elements being processed or filtered in some way.
Lodging rhymes with dodging. There could be more, but that is the most common one.
