When Bruno talks about the "Fury" he actually means Führer, which means leader in German. In the book, the "Fury" is Adolf Hitler.
Bruno: "We're not supposed to be friends you and me. We're meant to be enemies, Did you know that?"
Bruno: "There is such thing as a nice Jew, though, isn't there?
Herr Liszt: " I think, Bruno, if you ever found a nice Jew, you would be the greatest explorer in the world."
Narrator (Bruno): Despite the chaos that followed, Bruno found that he was still holding Schmuel's hand in his own and nothing in the world would have persuaded to let him go.
We should never have let the Fury come to dinner.

The thing about exploring is that you have to know whether the thing you've found is worth finding. Some things are just sitting there, minding their own business, waiting to be discovered. Like America. And other things are probably better off left alone. Like a dead mouse at the back of the cupboard.

Though it's not mentioned directly, the word that Lieutenant Kotler uses repeatedly in the story was either a derogatory term for 'Jew' (since every time he used it, the word was in direct reference to a Jewish person), or a swear word of some sort.
Bruno is a curious young boy, he likes adventure novels and likes exploring. He has no idea about what is happening in the camps, he thinks his father is a good man. He is friendly toward Shmuel (the boy he meets after exploring though the forest) and they become friends.
There are many words Bruno doesn't deliver correctly.
I think there are a few more, but this is all I know of so far!

HitlerIt is basically what Bruno calls Hitler- 'The Fury' - because he cannot pronounce the German word properly. Notice on page 117 his father tries to teach Bruno how to say it right.
In the boy in the stripped pajamas, Bruno cannot pronounce the word Auschwitz (the largest German concentration camp) so calls it Out-With ____ It looks as if the author has confused pronunciation with spelling. For native speakers of English Auschwitz may be a shade hard to spell, but it isn't hard to pronounce. The book was written in 4 days and is poorly researched and not very well thought out. ________ ******* The author purposely uses Out-With. During an interview he said, "...I decided not to use the word 'Auschwitz' once within the book itself. By removing the word, even though we are clearly there, and all the signs are there, by not specifically basing it there, it broadened it."
As I understand it a person is born into their cast (they inherit their cast designation from their parents). However it is the karma of your previous lives that determines which parents you are to be bone unto. I also understand that you cannot change you cast during your current life (and it is sin/bad karma to try). I have always found that this view makes the Hindus I have known very fatalistic.
