But, when Alice sees a vision she thinks is Bella commiting suicide, she comes back to Forks only to find Bella safe. But, not before Edward found out and decided to go to the Volturi and ask for death. But, when they said no, Edward planned to walk into the sun in front of all who where there. Bella and Alice get there just in time though. They stop him and he and his entire family move back to Forks and Bella and Edward continue their relationship as if he never left.

So basically: Alice can see that Bella is being followed by Victoria and she's made a coven of new born vampires who are after Bella. and Edward and the werewolves make a treaty so they can fight them together to protect Bella. Jacob really doesn't want Bella to be with Edward and Edward starts to control Bella more to keep her away from Jacob. Edward finally thinks Bella should do whatever is best for her and in the end Bella chooses Edward. The wolves and vamps do manage to save Bella in the end. Bella also agrees to marrying edward. YEY.
