In the 1951 movie "Crosswinds," the sailboat prominently featured is a classic wooden yawl named the "Cressida." This vessel plays a significant role in the film's narrative, which revolves around sailing and adventure. The yacht's design and aesthetic are reflective of the era, contributing to the film's overall maritime theme.
Stormvogel, a 73' ketch was built for South African owner Cornelius Bruynzeel. She raced in several Transpacific Yacht Races (LA to Honolulu) as well as other major ocean races, turning in outstanding times. She was bested in the amazing 1967 Honolulu Race by Bob Johnson's stripped and lightened 73' ketch, Ticonderoga, one of the most beautiful sailing vessels of all time. I believe the naval architect for Stormvogel was Giles VanDeststant. Approximate build date would have been 1965. Probably was built of fibreglass.AnswerThe 80 foot custom built blue water racing ketch named storm vogel was used as the couple,s sailing yacht. It was built entirely of plywood in 1961. I dont know who built her. she was an unbeatable racer for almost a dacade.

In the movie "Suicide Kings," the model sailboat featured prominently is a 1:12 scale model of a classic yacht, specifically a 1930s-era design. The sailboat serves as a significant motif throughout the film, symbolizing themes of control and manipulation. Its presence adds depth to the characters' dynamics and the unfolding plot.
