Although not explicitley stated about the country setting, while some people erronusly thought it was set in England or Germany, it is actually believed to be set in Medieval France for many important reasons. Not only it was based on the French fairy tale of the same name, though the clothing is sorta based off of the British, it also has many arts, architectures, designs, and style based on European paintings, most notably French manuscripts and tapestries, including the manuscript by the Limbourg Brothers, which Stefan's Castle is based off of both the castle in Germany, and many French castles, including the Chateau D' Saumur and D' Usse. Most importantly in the end where Phillip and Aurora reunites their parents, Tchiakovsky's redention of the French royal anthem, rearranged by George Bruns, is played. Aurora can also be found at the France Pavillion Epcot.
The version with Princess Aurora took place in Czarist Russia.
A name of the country was not given, but it can be assumed that it took place in Europe.
