He conquered territories, gave up war and violence, freed prisoners,restored people's land, practiced Buddhism, made hospitals, said no to hunting, wells were dug, said no to thirst and hunger for people and animals, issued laws, made people spread Buddhism outside of India(missionaries).

Asoka created stone pillars and also created shelters for animals. The pillars had inscriptions on them about nonviolence.
