Neil Armstrong discovered that he could walk on the moon for over 2 hours in his spacesuit. And that the moon had an extremely high temperature, which required cooling of their bodies with water. He also managed to plant the American flag.

Neil Armstrong's main mission was to pick up rocks and put them in boxes. Things we learned about the moon on his and Buzz Aldrin's trip was that the moon was covered in a fine layer of soft dust and the moon was not made of cheese.

Buzz Aldrin did more active research while on the moon, and found the best method of locomotion on the moon is a steady gallop rather than walking.

He should of let Buzz out first, because it seems he's not to proud to be an American hero, by being the first man to walk on the moon, where as Buzz is everywhere nowadays very proud to talk about it with anyone "WAY TO GO BUZZ!"

Lets get a few facts in here.

1. Neil Armstrong is proud of the fact, he has stated pubicily that he does not see why he should be lauded above all the others that made Apollo 11 possible. That is not a statement from a person who is not proud, but one that is a Gentleman.

2, The decision who was to be the first out of the LEM was made before they took off.

Aldrin made his feelings be known, but was over-ruled by those above him. On the grounds of safety were the main reasons, as Armstrong was closer to the hatch, and it was thought that there was no way possible for the two astronauts to pass each other in that limited area in their bulky spacesuits, without damaging the lander.

How did Aldrin re-act, by refusing to take any pictures of Armstrong on the surface. Man, what a heroic act that was.........................So I guess John Young was the same way with Charlie duke right,so many pictures of John Young and very limited of Charlie, and according to NASA the commander wasn't in charge of taking any photos on the moon unless he wanted too, unlike Gene Cernan the commander he took allot of pictures of Harrison Schmitt. All I'm saying is I'm not doubting Neil Armstrongs commitment to the program or his country, but maybe the 240,000 he jouryned to the moon on the way there he should of thought about what he was in for when he got back, and to shut out people the way he does" in my opinion is wrong"1 TV interview in 40 years and the numerous invites to NASA regarding his mission that he turns away all the time.I think he could be more aware of what he really stands for to America other than it was just a job.And that's just human for people to look at it that way, really outside Apollo 11 does the average person no any other astornauts, probably not.People only remember who was first not second or third, because in reality nobody really cares outside of cirlce of space hobbiest.
