The earth appeared as a beautiful white and brilliant blue circle surrounded by the blackness of space. Man made objects are not visible from the moon.

There is no truth in the rumor that surfaces from time to time that he saw bright lights from certain cities. The same assertion has been made about other astronauts even if they only were on the space shuttle which does not go to the moon.
