Oprah Winfrey had a very hard childhood she was born to unwed teenage parents (mom: Vernita Lee (18) housemaid) (dad: Vernon Winfrey (20) Army)

She lived with her grand mother until she was 6 when her mother thought Oprah should live with her. She was then sexually abused and she went to her fathers house at 13, which was lucky for Oprah. Her father made her read one book a week and do a book report. Perhaps why she thinks reading is so important. While she was at her mother's house she became naughty and her father turned her life around. He convinced her to get a job and go to college. She later built up jobs and came where she is today.
This question simply can't be answered, since we don't know the "her".
