hoot movie compared to the hoot book it is a venn diagram for my homework. The differences between the setting and the characters of the book to the movie are: that Curly had hair in the movie but in the book the author said he was as bald as a beach ball ; In the book Roy saw Mullet Fingers a week after he first saw him on the bus but in the movie Roy saw him the next day ; When Roy and Garret were talking about how Roy saw a weird kid running like crazy in the book , the setting was in the cafeteria while they were eating lunch but in the movie they were talking in the hall ; The second time Roy saw Mullet Fingers in the movie he was wearing a blue shirt but in the book the author said he was wearing the same dirty Miami Heat jersey ; After the golf ball incident on the golf course Roy went to the vice principal's office but in the movie he went home ; When officer Delinko talked to his boss because his car got spray painted while he was sleeping in the movie they talked in a restaurant but in the book they talked in the boss's office .These are all the differences I culd find : In the book the vice principal told Roy he was suspened off the bus for two weeks but in the movie his dad told him he was suspened of the bus for three days ; In the movie when Roy got hit by the golf ball he got hit on the forehead when he was standing but in the book he got hit above the left ear while he was running ; In the book when Roy was with the vice principal because Roy punched Dana in the nose she told him he had to write a sincere letter to Dana and Roy said who's going to help him read it but in the movie his dad told him the same thing ; In the movie Roy gets hit twice by a golf ball but in the book he only got hit once .In the book when Officer Delinko's car got spray painted his boss gave him his car back but in the movie his boss gave him a sort of mini golf cart type police car ; In the book when Beatrice took Roy's bike it was pouring rain and Beatrice bit his tire so he had an excuse for his parents but in the movie it was sunny and Beatrice put a nail into his tire ; In the book when Roy faked he got bit by the dog , the hospital called his parents to notify them but in the movie Officer Delinko went to their house to tell his parents about Roy .When Roy was at the hospital in the movie he told the doctor his name is Ling Ho but in the book he told the doctor his name was Tex ; In the book Roy told Dana there was cigarettes in the Mother Paula's site and that's how he got caught but in the movie he was chasing Roy ; In the book Mullet Fingers buries himself in the ground so only his head was visible but in the movie he was standing in front of the bulldozer to save the baby owls ; The last difference in the plot is that it didn't mention that Officer Delinko was promted to detective but it did in the movie .Also Officer delinko arrested Chuck muccle. Mullet finger took him Roy on the wildlife trip in the movie but in the book his family took him. Not very important detail is when roy went to see beatrice play soccer, His shirt was off but it was on in the movie.
