What did kings wear in the middle ages?Well, they wore robes with rings or jewelry. They were usually made with silk and sometimes had fur on top. They also sometimes carried purses, or wore a cap. Their shoes were colorful, and had a pointed, curled toe. Also, they would wear a combination of shirt, belt, pants/socks, and a cloak.

The queen's wardrobe was much more complex. Only queens and princesses were allowed to wear velvet, satin, or ermine. They were also the only people allowed to wear expensive veils. Their gowns were usually made of silk. Their shoes consisted of silk or velvet, with leather coverlets for when they went outside. Their hairstyles changed through time. They wore high headdresses, long braids, buns, covered their hair, had it loose, and others throughout time. They wore tight lacings to make themselves thinner with better posture. Gowns and sleeves were long and trailing, usually made of silk. The skirts were decorated with complex embroidery. They even had makeup, consisting of white lead powder, which they put on their faces, and perfumes from the east.

Both genders wore surcoats, and metals such and gold, and silver, plus many gems such as pearls and others adorned all clothing worn by royalty.
