When Padme' learned of Anakin's chose to join the Dark Side (while she was pregnant with Luke and Leia), she was devastated. She died (just as Anakin had foreseen) in child birth because she had "lost the will to live".

∙ 15y agoPadme loses the will to live because Anakin turns to the darkside and she cannot bear to see him as a sith. Ironically he turns to the darkside out of fear of losing her and in hopes of one day being able to save her from death.
