Heavier corn ears does not translate into more ears or even more kernels. Weight has nothing to do with the amount or measurement of the corn or kernel and is caused by the density of the corn itself and the moisture content in the kernel, cob and husk. If you were to weigh 6 cobs of corn of similar length and then husk and take the kernel from the cob you would end up with closely the same amount of corn per cob.
