What do the numbers represent in lost?

These numbers appear throughout the seasons of lost, their significance is unknown, but they carry a curse to those who use them, Hugo "Hurley" Reyes's best friend ended up in a mental hospital, after going clinically insane after all that had happened to him, he had used the numbers. He points Hurley to a late man whose widow remains in the same house in a remote outback in the middle of nowhere, her husband had been affected by the curse so badly, that they had had to move to the middle of nowhere.

"Did it work?" Hurley asks.

"Yes," the widow tells him.

The exact signifance has not been announced by the Lost crew members, but here are some facts about them.

• 23 is a Prime number
• There are two one digit numbers, and four two digit numbers.
• Double 4 and you get 8
• There is a 4 number difference between the 1st and 2nd numbers, a 1 number difference between the 3rd and 4th, and a 19 difference between the 5th and 6th.

  And, the most significant fact of all ...

• The numbers all add up to make 108, which is the number of minutes on the timer in the swan station before the electromagnetic pulse radiating from the station starts to get out of control.

• If you take 108 and divide it by how many numbers there are (6) you get 18, if you take away the 0 from the 108 you are left with 18, the flight number of the plane was 815. 815 backwards is 518, 5x18= 90. NOW. If you take away the 0 you are left with 9. 1+8 also = 9. 9x9 = 81 but backwards is also 18 and 9+9 is again 18. What was episode 18s title called? "numbers" Coincidence?!.. I think not...

The numbers may also be the EXACT cordinates of the island.

NOTE: I don't know where you graduated high school, my friend, but 4 and 16 are most definitely NOT prime numbers. The only prime number in this sequence is 23, because it is divisible only by 1 and itself.
