Why did ponyboy want to know if he had asked for Darry whlie he was sick?
Ponyboy is concerned because he feels like he has just made up with darry! He feels like now he understands him and realizes why he did things so he (Ponyboy) doesn't want to hurt Darry anymore!

At the beginning of the story Ponyboy thinks Darry doesn't like and he thinks he likes Sodapop. But then of the story when Darry starts crying, Ponyboy realizes that Darry does care about him.
